TEACHING AND LEARNING PHILOSOPHY
EDUCATION
The beliefs and values on education is all about letting a child explore as an individual, learning to follow instructions, develop different learning abilities and learn at their own pace, in the early childhood environment it will help a child develop socio-emotional ways to comprehend approaches in situations. Being in the school environment there are many changes in every term so a teacher should always be learning new strategies to enhance a classroom also teachers should be respectful to all children and not develop favoritism and most importantly teachers should always make their lessons fun and interactive. Values on an education background can be relate to gender equality which can become a discussion between teachers and parents to understand the such value in the ECCE Centre, ( Sage Journal,2022) teachers become knowingly about the curriculum, what is being taught and what projects are being initiated.
In the field in early childhood education the aim is to focus on every different aspect in a child life by their physical, emotional, social, and cognitive and language abilities. The physical development allows the child to discover gross and fine motor skills and how to use it in different activities, also encourage children to lead a healthy lives by eating correctly, practice proper hygiene. Social and emotional skills can help a child understand their feelings also they can learn to comfort fellow classmates or as teachers we can encourage that type of affection by informing a child that when another child feels sad they can give that child a hug and let them know that everything will be fine. When children understand each emotions they can be able to work together, share, and learn to practice problem solving together and their language skills will be able to improve with communicating continuously.
As a teacher of two years my approach in teaching is planning the exercise or activities to be fun and to gravity to the children in the classroom, as a teacher in this field, you need to discover your inner child to be able to communicate with these little ones, speaking to them at their level but at the same time I will be stern, playing outdoor games I always include myself in these activities so they will know or think that I’m like their friend and I’m also exciting and fun to be around and once a child feels comfortable with me it makes communication much easier. At the end of the week I will give a test to my class whether it be a fun activity physically or a worksheet to be able to assess if the child comprehend what was taught in class and I will know what area that I will need to go over and find other strategies that will be able to make the lesson easier and absorbable.
